ABOUT RANDOMSTORM
RandomStorm was formed in 2007 to offer a range of proactive security management solutions to businesses operating online.
They offer a suite of services to help protect and strengthen websites and IT infrastructure, protecting them from threats and identifying potential vulnerabilities.
RandomStorm works with clients such as Orange, Ebuyer.com and William Hill, performing system scanning, penetration testing, intrusion detection and PCI compliance services for ecommerce operations.
THE REQUIREMENT
With a wide range of complex online services and a rapidly expanding client list, RandomStorm required a significant server estate and access to high capacity Internet bandwidth to deliver its product set and deal with demand.
This scale of Internet Infrastructure places significant pressure on an organisation, not only requiring a good deal of physical space but also has financial implications from a bandwidth, power and cooling perspective.
As a technology footprint increases, bandwidth and power requirements grow alongside the costs associated with keeping the equipment cool, maintained and secure.
THE SOLUTION – COLOCATION WITH SLEEK
On this basis, Colocation of RandomStorm’s equipment into Sleek’s purpose built Data Centre had a number of distinct advantages.
RandomStorm’s servers would be protected by the enhanced, high specification environment and security measures of the Data Centre in addition to being directly placed on the high capacity Internet backbone that is vital for their service operations.
In the event of increased demand and additional equipment requirements, RandomStorm can now quickly add bandwidth and power to meet that demand – something difficult and expensive to do in an internal server room environment.
Cold-aisle and free-air cooling systems maintain the optimum temperature for maximum performance of the infrastructure and secure access to the Data Centre is available to RandomStorm on a 24×7 basis.Customer Quote
The facilities at Sleek provide us with a high specification ISO Certified Data Centre, without having to make a substantial financial commitment ourselves. This has allowed us to grow confident in the infrastructure and support we have for our critical systems.

The Execution
Colocation of RandomStorm’s equipment was a straightforward operation. Sleek quickly provisioned a rack in the Data Centre, with the power and bandwidth levels agreed beforehand.
The team from RandomStorm then arranged a convenient time for them to gain access to the Data Centre and fit the equipment into their rack.
Connectivity and network settings were configured to RandomStorm’s specification to give them the secure access they needed.
Nick Williams, Director of Operations said:
At Sleek, we have made a massive commitment to our Data Centre. We feel it is essential we provide the most reliable, high specification facilities to give businesses like RandomStorm, a stable, resilient platform they can be confident in building their systems and services on.
